SIMA: International Gathering Of
Agriculture & Breeding Professionals
SIMA is the global exhibition for professionals from the agricultural and breeding sectors. SIMA is held every two years in France, the heart of Europe’s top agri-business market. It draws over 200,000 visitors, including 300 delegations from abroad that flock to see 1,300 exhibitors from 38 countries.
The 74th SIMA trade show, which will take place from February 20-24, 2011 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center, just outside Paris, is gathering momentum in the midst of a booming agricultural market. “World population growth, which drives up food demand, the entrance of new emerging countries into the production market, operations that must secure a more sound footing, the need for innovation to successfully meet environmental requirements: this strong business climate means agribusiness professionals worldwide will have to raise important questions, rethink their ways of doing business and eventually change the way they operate”, said Martine Dégremont, director of SIMA-SIMAGENA.
For that reason, the upcoming SIMA will be taking its trend-setting role more seriously than ever, with a focus on successful and sustainable agriculture. The only exhibition in the world to include farming equipment, breeding and sustainable energy at the same show, SIMA will help professionals plan for the future by offering many events of international scope throughout the week. “To be completely in step with the sector’s current developments and concerns”, said Dégremont, “we have created major events focusing on six topical issues that cut across all segments of agriculture, innovation, genetics, sustainable energy, international, outlook and jobs.”
A global gathering of all agricultural sector players, including manufacturers, farmers, breeders, contractors, fruit and vegetable producers, wholesalers, dealers, importers and cooperatives, the next SIMA:
- Will have a strong international focus in terms of exhibitors (50% are expected to come from abroad), visitors (25% from over 100 countries) and special events;
- Will provide a concrete look at the latest innovations, especially with the SIMA Innovation Awards, which are recognized and eagerly awaited by agri-business professionals worldwide. Winners of the awards, which set the trends for future farming equipment, are selected by a jury of specialists and a team of international experts open to final users;
- Will boost business by offering networking sessions;
- Will feature high-level conferences and workshops as well as farm visits, a very successful program introduced at the previous exhibition, with the aim of providing concrete solutions.
