Unverferth Named to Ag Hall of Fame

Richard A. Unverferth, co-founder of Unverferth Manufacturing Co., Inc., was inducted posthumously as one of three Putnam County (Ohio) Ag Hall of Fame honorees in April.

The Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding contributions of individuals involved in agriculture in Putnam County. Unverferth and his father were noted for creative innovations that made equipment more efficient.

The father-son partners began Unverferth Manufacturing Company in 1948 to help their neighbor farmers become more efficient. Today, those Putnam County “neighbors” stretch across North America and internationally.

“On behalf of the entire Unverferth family and the many dedicated coworkers, past and present, we greatly appreciate the recognition of Dad’s deep commitment to agriculture, business and community involvement in Putnam County,” said Larry Unverferth, president. “Thank you to the Putnam County Hall of Fame Committee for selecting him as one of the first to receive this tribute. He would have been very humbled and appreciative of this honor.”
