ASABE Revises Standards on Tractor Ballast and Tread Settings

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has initiated the revision of ASAE EP562.1 SEP2015 (R2019) Procedure for Determining Recommended Ballast and Minimum Rear Wheel Tread Settings for Agricultural Tractors with Agricultural Front Loaders.

The project will improve the guidance for ballasting with the loader attached to the tractor, remove the alternate tread setting chart and update normative references.

Anyone interested in participating in the development and review of this standard or the ASABE Loader committee is encouraged to contact ASABE Standards Administrator Sadie Stell for more information at Stell@asbe.org. For information on this or any other ASABE standard, contact Scott Cedarquist at 269-932-7031, cedarq@asabe.org. A current listing of all ASABE standards projects can be found on the ASABE web site at asabe.org/projects.

ASABE is recognized worldwide as a standards-developing organization for food, agricultural, and biological systems, with more than 280 standards currently in publication.
