CNH Acquires Hemisphere GNSS
CNH Industrial has announced it will acquire Hemisphere GNSS which in its media announcement characterizes the move as “a critical step that advances our automated and autonomous solutions for agriculture and construction.”
Hemisphere GNSS is considered a global leader in high-performance satellite positioning technology and currently owned by Unistrong, a company incorporated in the People’s Republic of China. This acquisition, combined with the Raven brand’s capabilities, provides greater control of precision and navigation technologies the company requires for the future.
Hemisphere has proprietary Global Navigation Satellite System solutions offering precision accuracy for the agriculture, construction, mining and marine industries. The company designs electronic systems and software solutions. Its core technology capabilities include application-specific integrated circuit chips, circuit boards, radio frequency signal processing, navigation algorithms and satellite-based correction designs. It will continue to operate as a standalone business through operations in the United States, Canada and Australia. One of Hemisphere’s brands includes Outback Guidance based in Hiawatha, Kan.
The expertise and technology from Hemisphere will be integrated into CNH Industrial brand products and services, according to the media announcement.
