Cor Lodder Reelected as RM of Dufferin Reeve for Second Term

Cor Lodder, Corporate Director of Walinga Inc, and Operations Manager of the Carman Manitoba Machining Division at Walinga, has been reelected to a second term as reeve of the Rural Municipality (RM) of Dufferin in Manitoba. During his first term, the municipality replaced two decommissioned bridges with modern structures designed to accommodate today’s larger, heavier farm equipment. Other priorities included extending sewer infrastructure along the eastern corridor near Highway 3 and addressing drainage challenges. The municipality also tackled approximately 71 miles of ditches following a severe dust storm and subsequent heavy rainfall while maintaining 400 miles of roads.

Looking ahead, Cor is eager to continue these efforts and pursue new economic development opportunities. “You need proper infrastructure for that and so thankfully we’ve been able to work with Council and with our engineering contractors to design that, put that together and also to make it work in relation to all the requirements,” Cor said, highlighting the importance of infrastructure in supporting future growth. He also expressed appreciation for the council and municipal staff for their work in prioritizing projects while maintaining the municipality’s financial stability.
