AGCO To Manufacture In China

AGCO said it will open two manufacturing sites in China, saying the Chinese agricultural business offers a large and growing market for low and mid-horsepower tractors. The company said the first manufacturing site will be in Changzhou (Jiangsu province) and is expected to open in early 2010. AGCO intends to produce low and mid horsepower tractors, transmissions, engines and gen-sets for the Chinese agricultural market and for export.

The second site, also to be set up in 2010, is to be located in Heilongjiang, China’s largest ag area. This site will focus on high horsepower tractors, combines and balers.
