Alamo Marks 2,000 Days Without Lost-Time Accident
Alamo Group’s, Alamo Industrial, in Seguin, TX recently honored employees and the executive management team for going 2,000 days without a lost-time accident.
“What you have achieved is absolutely amazing,” Ian Burden, president of Alamo Industrial, told the workers. “The thing about safety is it has got to be a culture. You have to want to be safe.”
Burden said the Seguin plant’s employees had gone more than 1.5 million hours without a lost-time accident. Burden also presented 23 employees who have worked for 25 or more years at the Seguin plant, with a certificate of achievement from the Texas Department of Insurance.
The foundation of Alamo Industrial began in 1969 with Alamo Group’s acquisition of Engler Manufacturing Co., developer of the first wide-swath flex-wing mowers known as Terrain King. In 1983, Alamo Group purchased Mott Corp., a manufacturer of flail mowing equipment. In early 1984, the company acquired Triumph Machinery Co., the only U.S. manufacturer of hydraulic sickle-bar equipment.
