Alliance Tire Group Opens New Plant in India
Alliance Tire Group (ATG) inaugurated a new 54,000-ton-per-year factory in Dahej, in the Indian state of Gujarat, according to a company news release.
The $150 million factory will manufacture off-highway tires for global markets. ATG designed and built the facility with state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing equipment. Its location near ports on Gujarat’s west coast ensure a steady flow of raw materials and reduce shipping time of finished goods, said James Clark, President of Alliance Tire Americas.
When the plant runs at full capacity—expected in early 2016—it will employ 1,500 workers. The 115-acre site also includes room for expansion.
This is ATG’s third plant. It also has manufacturing facilities in Hadera, Israel, and Tirunelveli, India.
