Americans Want Food Safety

The Center for Food Integrity’s (CFI) annual Consumer Trust Survey said Americans are more concerned with food safety than they are about the war in Iraq or global warming, Brownfield Ag News reports.

The survey found fewer than 20% of more than 2,000 respondents strongly agreed that government agencies were doing a good job ensuring food safety.  While food safety was a big concern for Americans, it is not the biggest.  Americans are most concerned about rising energy costs, the U.S. economy and rising food costs, the survey found.
