ASABE Seeks Input Regarding Manure Spreaders and Forage Boxes

The ASABE Technical Committee for Farm Materials Handling and Transport would like additional experts familiar with open- and closed-tank manure spreaders and self-unloading forage boxes. ASABE currently publishes three standards covering these types of equipment:

• ASAE S325.1 JAN1989 (R2009), Volumetric Capacity of Open Tank Type Manure Spreaders
• ASAE S326.1 JAN1989 (R2014), Volumetric Capacity of Closed Tank Type Manure Spreaders
• ASAE S373.1 FEB1994 (R2009), Safety for Self-Unloading Forage Boxes

When standards of this type are being reviewed it is important to have manufacturers from both large and small companies involved. This is an excellent opportunity for members to have real input in the process.

Members with expertise in the manufacturing of the above types of equipment are encouraged to contact Scott Cedarquist cedarq@asabe.org directly to learn more about the time commitment required and the level of expertise being sought.
