Blount’s First Quarter Results

Blount International released numbers for the quarter ending March 31. The company’s Farm, Ranch and Agriculture (FRAG) segment reported first quarter sales of $55.9 million, a decrease of $4 million from the first quarter of 2014. The company said the reduction in sales was driven mainly by lower volumes of agriculture attachments and agriculture cutting blades resulting from weaker market conditions.

The segment backlog was $18.3 million as of March 31, compared to $22.9 million on the same date last year.
