Canadian Government Extends Regulation

The Canadian government recently granted a one-year extension to a regulation that requires testing of electromagnetic emissions from mobile equipment powered by batteries and engines.

Designated ICES-002, Issue 6, the intent of the regulation is to assure, certify and label mobile equipment as not emitting signals that could cause radio frequency interference. Certification requires tests conducted in an environment that is free of electromagnetic noise. Review the regulation at FarmEquip.org/ICES-002.

The Canadian government has also released regulations amending “ozone-depleting” substances and halocarbon alternative regulations for chemicals widely used in refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment and foam manufacturing. The regulation can be found at FarmEquip.org/CanadaRegs150.
