Dairy Exports Reach Record Highs

U.S. dairy exports in the first half of 2008 totaled over $2,105 million, increasing more than 75% over the same period last year, setting a record for the second consecutive year, USAgNet reports.

The primary factor driving this increase has been higher world dairy product prices.  In contrast, the value of U.S. dairy product imports increased only 13% to $1,447 million.  That’s according to the International Dairy Foods Association.
