Drink Up With Palin!
Both Republican and Democrats alike have their reasons for either liking or disliking the syrah wine from Palin vineyards, a small winery in northern Chile, the Associated Press reports.
According to distributor’s website, the vintner’s name, “describes a ball that was used in an ancient game played by the Mapuche, a group of people indigenous to central Chile.” But that hasn’t stopped some drinkers from making the obvious political connection to Republican V.P. candidate Sarah Palin. Wine bars and stores that carry the wine have said that since the Alaska governor was picked by Republican John McCain, interest in the wine has increased substantially.
