Glass To Speak At The Dallas Convention On How To Use Tractor Sales Forecasts As A Planning Tool

We are happy to welcome back speaker Charlie Glass, of Glass Management Group, to our Fall Convention. Glass, an industry veteran and long time supporter of this Association, will bring his expertise on how forecasting tractor sales can in turn help shortline manufacturers set their own sales forecast.

In This Session, Attendees Will Learn:

  • How Tractor Patterns Are Established
  • How Tractor Patterns Help Establish Shortline Sales Forecasts
  • How To Successfully Use Tractor Sales Forecasts As A Tool For Future Planning

The Glass Manufacturing Group has developed several matrices that are designed to accurately forecast agricultural tractor sales for the U.S. and Canadian tractor markets. Additionally, the Group has maintained a historical database of U.S. tractor shipments since 1969, establishing a foundation for future patterns.

Glass’ formula generates forecasts for not only shipments to dealers, but also changes in dealer inventory levels and their resultant retail sales. According to Glass, it’s the retail sales numbers that mark the health of the current market and indicate the direction it is likely to move in the next six to twelve months.

Most of the agricultural equipment sold today has a direct relationship to tractor sales, these tractor forecasts are very beneficial in aiding manufacturers in determining their next year’s sales forecast. Glass’ presentation is designed to help members fine tune manufacturer’s forecasting models.

Because tractor sales is one of the prime indicators for the health of agricultural markets in general, you’ll want to attend this session.

Glass will be speaking to attendees on Saturday, November 6, from 2:00 to 3:00p in Gaston AB.

This is an open session — anyone registered with the Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association is welcome to attend. For more information go to FarmEquip.org/FC. ◆
