Great Plains Expands Production, Distribution

Great Plains Manufacturing recently announced plans to expand its production in the U.S. and its dealer network in Canada.

The company has agreed to buy a 350,000-square-foot building in Abilene, Kan., and will use it to expand production of its Land Pride tractor implements and Kubota skid steer attachments, among other things. The new building is near Land Pride’s current Abilene production facility, which President and CEO Linda Salem said was a contributing factor.

“We have talented, hardworking and dedicated employees who live in the area,” she said. “These employees play a vital role in the success of our company, as well as in their community. We look forward to growing our workforce in the Abilene area and continuing our strong partnership with the city.”

In a separate announcement, Great Plains said it will distribute its equipment through the Kubota Canada Ltd. (KCL) dealer network across the western provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, as well as Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

“Due to the success that we have experienced in Eastern Canada with KCL, and our desire to expand our coverage, we are excited to continue to build our relationship in Western Canada,” said David Disberger, president of Great Plains Ag Division. “The dealership support and service from KCL will allow us to further grow and support our Canadian business.”
