Great Plains Mfg. Purchases Simba
After months of discussions, Salina, KS-based Great Plains announced the purchase of Simba International — based in Sleaford, England — which designs and markets tillage equipment, the Salina Journal reports.
Simba’s said its decision to sell to Great Plains will open up new areas for the company in North America via its new owner’s dealer network, as well as provide Simba a wider range of products for the Central and Eastern European markets which it has had some current success in. In recent years, Great Plans has also found Eastern Europe to be a strong market and the company has sales and service locations in Ukraine, Southern Russia and Bulgaria.
UK Simba dealers will market Great Plains equipment, plus Simba’s technical staff will be involved in developing Great Plains machinery for Western European conditions, said a Simba spokesman.
