Long-Time SMA Specialist to Retire

Mark Zimmer, who has been with SMA for most of its 54-year history, will retire May 1.

Zimmer joined SMA in 1973 and, over the course of his career, served as warehouseman, production worker, part-time driver and deliveryman, warehouse manager, inside sales representative, outside sales representative, buyer, purchasing manager, and, most recently, product manager.

He is credited with selecting many of the company’s leading suppliers, shaping its product lines, and introducing new products.

With one exception, Zimmer has attended each of the Association’s fall conventions since 1988.

Says one of Zimmer’s colleagues: “When most (Association) members think of SMA, they think of Mark Zimmer.”
