Montana Rebranding Farmtrac Tractors
Montana Tractors is rebranding, as Montana Limited, 1,000 units of farm tractors it obtained from Farmtrac North America LLC,
USAgNet reports. This includes compact to utility size farm tractors with horsepower ranging from 35-80. The company acquired Farmtrac’s assets early last month. As part of the asset deal, Montana Tractors obtained 1,000 units of farm tractors from Farmtrac, which was placed in receivership last year.
Montana Tractors’ top executive recently said the company would also launch production of its own backhoes and loaders, on spec from Farmtrac, within the next 90 days. Its acquisition of Farmtrac allows Montana Tractors to start sales of the machines exclusively, as it currently obtains loaders and backhoes from another company.
Montana Tractors does final assembly of two-wheel-drive farm tractors. The company hopes to assemble nearly 1,500 units of farm vehicles per year at Famtrac’s North Carolina site after soft market conditions improve.
Montana Tractors said it has rehired nearly 20 workers at the Tarboro, NC plant, which includes half a dozen salaried workers.
