Obituary: Phil Merrick

We were saddened to learn of the death on April 24th of long time friend Phil Merrick, National Sales Director of Cygnus Business Media in Ft. Atkinson, WI. Merrick was only 50 at the time of his death, apparently from heart failure.

This editor knew Merrick for many years as a sales manager for Farm Equipment. He was known by many of our members as a regular attendee at both spring and fall conventions. For several years, he was most active on committees and management in the Associate Supplier section.

Merrick is survived by his wife Marcia and two sons. If Phil had one fault, it only could have been his love of the Greenbay Packers football team. While we hadn’t seen Phil for a number of years, since Cygnus sold Farm Equipment to Lessiter Publications, he will continue to remain in our thoughts and memories.

Our sincere condolences go to his family and friends.
