Sentry Offers Safety Training

Sentry Insurance will host a three-day seminar in October that will help companies plan and implement safety programs.

The Principles of Safety Management Seminar is Oct. 18 to 20 in Stevens Point, Wis., which is Sentry’s headquarters.

The seminar is designed to provide shortline companies a framework for capitalizing on the principles of safety management in a way that’s compatible with their objectives.

Gain tools to examine key safety principles and form action plans unique to your organization. Develop plans for:

• Leadership and management commitment for developing successful safety and health programs
• Hazard recognition, anticipation, evaluation, and control
• Regulatory compliance (without regulatory compliance driving the system)
• Workplace ergonomics, design, and engineering
• Workplace violence
  (active shooter)
• Employee orientation and training, including involvement, behaviors, motivation and attitudes.

The seminar costs $400 for Sentry customers and $450 for others. Sentry customers with Loss Control Service Hour credits may use three hours of credits in lieu of the course fee.
