ASABE Standards – Your Input is Needed!
The following ASABE Standard development information is important and may affect some FEMA member manufacturers’ implements.
- ANSI/ASABE S625.1: Drawbar Pin Dimensions and Requirements for Towing Machine with Clevis: The 1” hitch pins have been tested. The John Deere replacement (after-market) 1” pin has passed the test. FEMA members consider testing their pins or comparing them to the John Deere pin. This standard revision will classify the 1” pin as a PA and has its own straight horizontal pull test requirements. FEMA members should review the Draft Standard ASABE S625.1.
- Standard ISO wxyz-2.230403.WD.3PT Hitch Height: Eric Smith with John Deere is developing a standard for the height range for input PTO shaft connection location for 3-Point hitch for implements. The PTO connection dimensions are being proposed and should be reviewed by implement manufacturers to ensure compliance or request changes to the proposed dimensions. The major concerns are for short coupled 3-point hitch implements with short PTO drivelines, such as, 3-point hitch rotary tillers and sprayers. FEMA members should review the Draft Standard ISO wxyz-2.230403.WD.3PT Hitch Height. For information concerning the reasons for the need for the PTO Implement input connection height standard, please see the Word document prepared by Eric Smith ISO wxyz-2 Height Explanation.
This is an opportunity for FEMA members to review and contribute to a critical standard during the development phase. If you have any questions or concerns about these standards or the height explanation, please contact John Fisher at lajrfisher@gmail.com or Brett Cohen at bcohen@alamo-group.com.
