Pöttinger, which includes a location in Valparaiso, Ind., opened its fourth production plant overseas in June.
The new plant is in St. Georgen, Austria, which is near its main plant in Grieskirchen, Austria.
On the same day that operations began, the company broke ground on a second phase of expansion at the site, a move based upon “the very strong order situation and the limited space available at the main plant.”
Other plants are in Germany and the Czech Republic.
The main plant in Grieskirchen manufactures grassland implements. The Bernburg, Germany, plant makes seed drills. And the Vodnany, Czech Republic, plant makes tillage equipment.
The newest location makes round balers and large rakes.
