Suppliers Meet Next Week to Plan Summit
Our Supplier Board of Governors meets in New Orleans next week to tend to details for networking events at the 2022 Supply Summit & Showcase, which is April 6 to 8 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
Suppliers will host the annual golf tournament at Bayou Oaks City Park, a 36-hole golf complex in New Orleans’ historic City Park.
The trap shoot will be in Houma, La., at Bayou Country Sporting Clays.
The board is exploring options in the French Quarter for its annual night out. It is considering a venue that will include dueling pianos.
The composition of the group gathering in New Orleans next week has changed during our many months of pandemic disruption.
Steve Nichol of Off Ramp Production completed his term on the Supplier Board of Governors at the conclusion of the convention in November. His successor will be elected in New Orleans.
To fill a vacancy created when Mark Czopek left the board, Chairman Scott Moss, who is with Gates, appointed Chris Smith from Comer Industries.
Finally, the supplier section met during the fall convention and re-elected Moss; Joe Sampson, Osmundson; John Brown, Myers Spring; Mary Sutton, Muir Omni Graphics; and Steve Ford Sr., Lapham Hickey Steel.
Marc Adams of GBGI continues to serve. He is vice chair this year.
“This is a creative, committed group,” said Executive Vice President Vernon Schmidt. “The time and energy they put into these volunteer roles lead to memorable experiences each spring.”
“New Orleans in April has great potential,” Moss said. He expects the Board of Governors to focus next week on “making the most of our host city and planning events that will create opportunities to talk business and have fun.”
